As a Retail/Consignment Associate, you work directly with our customers by providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and sales in our retail store. You will be the face of Kids on 45th, and interact with all walks of life, including children of all ages, on a daily basis. You are responsible for maintaining a pleasant and inviting atmosphere that encourages customers to become lifelong supporters of the brand. You will work closely with your management and buying teams to identify sales trends, meet sales goals, provide genuine quality service experiences, and maintain overall efficient and productive store operations.


  • Greet & communicate with customers in a positive, friendly, upbeat manner
  • Strive to anticipate and determine all customer shopping needs
  • Offer accurate product and service knowledge, both in person and over the phone
  • Perform all point of sale tasks, including cash handling and customer purchasing
  • Take ownership in keeping the store clean, organized, and safe for children
  • Assist management with interior merchandise and window displays, as needed
  • Maintain a well-stocked sales floor, and assist with hanging & tagging clothing
  • Assist buyers with pricing and processing gently used children’s clothing, toys, and gear, as needed
  • Learn and stay up-to-date with current children’s clothing and toy trends and pricing
  • Report issues and trends to management promptly
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned from time to time


  • Prior retail or similar customer service experience required, though there will be extensive on the job training provided. Experience in consignment retail a plus.
  • Open/flexible schedule; must be available to work morning or evening shifts, and at least one weekend day per week
  • Comfortable working with and around children
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and build rapport with customers
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively
  • Dedicated, hard-working self starter, with ability to work well as a team or individually with minimal supervision
  • Tech-savvy and proficient with Apple and Windows products
  • Able to lift, bend, reach, and stand on feet for extended period of time
